BID SPECIFICATIONS
I. SCOPE
These specifications shall apply to the construction of a combination foundation - sump and for modifications and erection of an existing blowdown tower.
II. SPECIFICATIONS
The contractor shall furnish all labor, supervision, tools, equipment, utilities, materials, and insurance to construct a combination foundation sump for an 8' diameter blowdown tower and for the modification and erec tion of an existing tower according to attached drawings.
Concrete shall be 3000 psi, 28 day ultimate strength, and shall be constructed according to the Standards of the American Reinforced Concrete
Institute.
Steel plate for tower modifications shall be ASTM A-7. Steel pipe shall be ASTM A53 Gr. B. Welding shall be done according to AWS Standards. ASHE Welding Qualifications, Section IX, shall apply.
The exterior surfaces of the tower and the sump nozzles shall be sand blasted according to SSPC - SP 1063T, "Near White Metal Blast", shall be painted with one coat of Briner #4895 Versatile Zinc Dust 3 mils dry film, and one coat of Briner #752 black Super Versatile, 6 to 7 mils dry film.
III. GENERAL CONDITIONS
Working hours shall be from 7 A.M. to 3:30 P.M. Monday through Friday. Coastal States Holidays shall be observed.
The contractor shall comply with the requirements of the plant Safety Department.
The contractor shall provide and maintain, at his own expense, with carriers acceptable to Coastal States, the following insurance, to be'' evidenced by Certificates of Insurance furnished to the Company by the carriers:
1. Workmen's Compensation Insurance, including death coverage.
2. Public Liability and Property Damage Insurance on operations with minimum limits as follows:
Bodily Injury Property Damage
$100,000/$300,000. $50,000. on any one accident.
All bids shall be submitted to Mr. B. A. Paulson, Plant Mgr., on or before 12:00 Noon, November 15, 1967.
