Dear
,
There was an error in Figure 3 of our published paper that I submitted as pre-read to your committee; "Antibody response to COVID-19 vaccines among workers with a wide range of exposure to per-and polyfluoroalkyl substances", by Anna Porter, Sarah Kleinschmidt, Kara Andres, Courtney Reusch, Ryan M. Krisko, Oyebode A. Taiwo, Geary W. Olsen, and Matthew P. Longnecker.
The first two graphs in the figure, 3a and 3b, are incorrect due to a copy and paste error (of PFNA rather than PFOS). We have contacted the journal and the editor has replaced the content of Figure 3 that was published. The link to the corrected paper is included below for your reference; please feel free to share the new link with interested members of your committee.

https://www.sciencedirect.comiscience/article/pii/S0160412022004640/pdfft?isDTMRedir=true
Please note that the only changes are in Figure 3a and 3b - the other pieces of the figure (3c -- 3h) and the caption remain the same. The corrected Figure 3a and 3b do not change the data analyses or the conclusion of the paper, which, as explained in the text of the manuscript (see last paragraph on page 5, continued on page 6) states "...results were consistent with a linear relationship. "
Regarding your request to examine the data, given the data analysis was performed by independent investigators from Ramboll Consulting Group (Dr. Anna Porter and Dr. Matthew P. Longenecker, both are co-authors of the paper), I propose setting up a meeting with interested members of your committee and the biostatisticians and other investigators to understand and discuss the further analysis that may be of interest.
Thank you

Dear
Following up on your presentation in the BCR `open' meeting on the 12th of December `A Study of COVID 19 in Relation to Serum Concentrations of Per and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS)', we would like to receive some additional information.
It has come to our attention that the paper you presented at our meeting contains some errors. We would like to examine the data of this paper in some more detail, but the supplementary data provided with the paper does not allow for detailed calculations.
Therefore, we would like to receive some additional information:
2
The anonymized raw data that was used to perform the analyses in the abovementioned paper. This means the specific blood values of the enrollment and Follow-up visit per individual (of the 415 participants, but no medical history/information from the health history questionnaires is needed):
o PFAS-concentrations for the 13 PFAS compounds (PFOS, PFOA, PFHxS, perfluorobutanoic acid [PFBA], perfluorobutanesulfonic acid [PFBS], perfluoropentanoic acid [PFPeA], perfluorohexanoic acid [PFHxA], perfluoroheptanoic acid [PFHpA], perfluorononanoic acid [PFNA], PFDA, 2-(N-methyl-perfluorooctane sulfonamido) acetic acid [MeFOSAA], 2-(N-Ethyl-perfluorooctane sulfonamido) acetic acid [EtFOSAA], and perfluorooctane sulfonamide [PFOSA]).
o Serum concentrations of antibodies against SARS-CoV-2: Anti-spike IgG and neutralizing antibodies.
But also
o The antigenic stimulus group to which the participant belongs. To Anonymize these results you can just subdivide/rank the participants by group:
1. No COVID + 1 Pfizer vaccine 2. No COVID + 2 Pfizer vaccines 3. No COVID + 1 Moderna vaccine 4. No COVID + 2 Moderna vaccines 5. No COVID + J&J vaccine 6. Yes COVID + 1 Pfizer vaccine 7. Yes COVID + 2 Pfizer vaccines 8. Yes COVID + 1 Moderna vaccine 9. Yes COVID + 2 Moderna vaccines 10. Yes COVID + J&J vaccine 11. Yes COVID + no vaccine
Preferably, we would like to have these data in an Excel spreadsheet. As we ask for anonymized data and the specific medical history per individual is not needed, we are convinced that GDPR will not be an issue in this case.
All of the correspondence regarding the submission of the manuscript with the journal where the paper was published (Environment International) or correspondence with other journals regarding previous submissions of the same manuscript. By this we mean the communication (mails, etc.) between the authors of the paper and the reviewers/editors of the journal(s).
We hope you can provide us with this information, so we can evaluate the results of your paper more in depth.
We thank you for your cooperation.
