ASBESTOS STUDY COMMITTEE Members of Che Committee have been advised that a Committee meeting is planned for February 16, 1973. Among items Co be discussed are labelling practices for brake linings and Che EFA asbestos emissions standards. ' 2. HAS A DEADLY SIDS" \ There was a feature article published in the New York Times magazine section on Sunday, January 21. 1973. The article emphasized medical histories of asbescos workers as concerns(lung cancer, mesothaliooa and asbestosisl The article relied heavily on data supplied/by Dr. Selikoff of Mt. Sinai Hospital. One conclusion reached by che author (and of course by Dr. Selikoff) was Chat Che 5 fibers/cc (TWA) concentration of/asbescos fibers in Che work place was coo lenient.
