Costello Tan?)a Terrace Hotel Tampa Florida Dear Mr* Costello: Thanks very much for the additional information vhich you supplied to me through Dr.Schradin, and which you followed up with your letter of March 25th* I have not considered it necessary to modify my initial report by the Inclusion of this i nformation^^The facts,as they have been assembled in relation serve quite adequately, I believe, for the interpretation*of the death of Harvey Bennett as well* Nevertheless I see no reason at this time to modify the report to the Orange State Oil Company since you can present the facts to them, and since the conclusions to be drawn seem fairly obvious* I think any action which we might take in reference towould depend largely upon the attitude tafflW^^Wpresentatives of the Orange State Oil Company* In my opinion no useful purpose would be served by making additional trouble over this case, provided the Orange State Oil people have the right attitude and are willing to do vhat can be done, I will take no action, therefore, pending the receipt of a report from them as to what they have done in this instance. In my opinion they should Investigate tills matter thoroughly, should establish the facts with reference to this man's family and their cirevenstances, and should do everything in their power to offset the results of this unfortunate accident* If they are willing to take such action, which is all that can be done, I should feel that there is nothing remaining for me to do* If they should not take this actl n, I shall reserve the right to initiate investigation on our own count* I should appreciate it very much if you would handle mis with them in such a way that you will be able to communicate their point of view to me* I do not think this matter can be permitted to go without further action merely because no blame seems to have been attached.in this Vj -2 case to the conditions under which this nan worked. Needless to say wo should urge upon then the necessity of making a thorough investigation of the facts in the case of the other nan, ____ about whom no one seems to know anything at present.
