Konzen by February 5 1969 Meeting is to be arranged with Dr. Cooper and Leroy Balzer on February 10 1969 A bacteriological study shall be added to the duct systems proposal -3- BILL 707 - MASSACHUSETTS LEGISLATURE This proposed bill restricts the use of duct liners and duct systems in the State of Massachusetts Senate Bill 234 - will require the use of warning labels on fibrous glass products It was agreed that the Education and Legislation Committee shall establish a long range program to combat such legislation A committee is to be set up to determine the program and its funding THERMAL INSULATION SOCIETY REQUEST The request from the Charleston West Virginia Thermal Insulation Society to have NIMA furnish a speaker to talk on the subject of asbestosis was turned over to the Education and Legislation Committee SMWIA The situation in Florida where a contractor changed a specification from rigid board to a rigid round product was discussed It was recommended that Florida on February 4 and not by NIMA the meeting scheduled by the SMWIA in Miami 1969 be attended by individual manufacturers FM FIRE TESTS C. E. Ernst reviewed the fire tests that were performed by Factory Mutual Research Corp. on fibrous glass rectangular duct systems C. E. Ernst is to arrange to have FM run calorimeter products Copies of the temperature charts are to the Committee for evaluation tests to be on the four distributed The technical group is to meet and establish a program that will enable better fire test results to be obtained REINFORCEMENTS The tests are continuing and are scheduled to be completed prior to May 1 1969 A ~ 04- NEXT MEETING DATE The next scheduled Committee meeting will be in Chicago Illinois Janu- ary 27 1969 at 1:00 P.M. in J.
