I am writing to request the participation of US EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt or, if appointed,
the Trump Administration's new EPA Region 1 Director for New England, as Keynote Speaker at
the 2018 Annual Connecticut Recycling Conference hosted by the Connecticut Recyclers
Coalition (CRC), on
at the Aqua Turf Club in Southington, Connecticut.

The CRC is a diverse group of waste and materials management businesses, their municipal government customers, nonprofits and individuals with an interest in the State's waste and recycling industries. Since 2014, CRC has hosted an annual conference to bring together its membership across the waste industry in Connecticut to discuss key issues for the coming year.
Many of Connecticut's regulatory policies over the past decade have worked in concert with the former "progressive" US EPA. In fact, many of Connecticut's environmental policies got their start under former EPA Administrator, Gina McCarthy, who served as Connecticut's Department of Environmental Protection Commissioner prior to her tenure at EPA.
Given the leadership changes under President Trump, the CRC's membership is very anxious and interested in hearing more about how the regulatory landscape in New England and Connecticut will change given President Trump's reinvigorated pro-business outlook.

Connecticut Recyclers Coalition Annual 2018 Recycling Conference
The CT Recyclers Conference is an annual day -long event featuring a robust discussion of key issues facing the recycling and materials management industries in Connecticut as well as its many customers and stakeholders in the state.
The 2018 Conference program will include expert panel discussions of timely issues in recycling to provide answers to questions including:
what's to come from packaging reduction Task Force efforts? what's at stake with Connecticut's bottle deposit system? what's the status of organics recycling in Connecticut?
Plus, an update from the regulator and preview of the 2018 legislative session will round out the day, providing insight on what you need to know to plan for the coming year.
The CT Recyclers Conference is the singular event each year where municipalities, state officials, the business community and non-profit organizations in Connecticut come together in one setting to have a dialogue about the best ways to achieve our mutual goal of a 60% recycling rate statewide.
