t Ihe normal method of eliminating the danger of explosion vith mix
i tures of an Inflammable gas and air or oxygen Is to render the mixture
! Incapable of flame propagation by using a large excess of one component,

Inflammability of mixed gases suggest another and more powerful method, namely, the introduction of an additional Inflammable Ingredient of a
type which has a lov upper limit of flame propagation. The limit concen
tration being measured by volume, suitable additives will normally be

characterized by a high molecular velgbt. A vide choice of such materials
Is available so that a suitable additive can probably be found to satisfy
any specific requirements.

975 Personal Tactors In Industrial Accidents. A Study of Accident Proneness
In an Industrial Group. W.A. Wong, and O.E. Hobbs. Ind. Hed7 IB7

Ihe accident prone vorker can be Identified by a simple analysis
of the frequency of occurrence of superficial Injuries. Those who have the most frequent minor accidents have a disproportionate number of major V accidents. The personal history of the ..high accident group differs from the lov by being marked by evidence of aggression and Intolerance for family, social, or work discipline. This evidence suggests that the basic I cause is to be found In the life-long pattern of emotional reaction that
Is uninfluenced by reason or education. If It is determined that a vorker Is accident prone to a marked degree, there Is little to offer except transfer to a less dangerous occupation. -- Authors' Summary and Conclusions l'
