Weaver of 6 Raybestos-Manhattan who serves as chairman of the 7 Friction Materials Standards Institute Asbestos Study 8 Committee addressed the annual membership of the 9 meeting of the institute. 10 Mr. Weaver's address was delivered in Vail, 11 Colorado on Wednesday morning, June 27, 1973. 12 I am glad to be able to be here anyway to 13 attempt to fulfill my responsibility in reporting to 14 you as your Asbestos Study Committee chairman. 15 Rather than present a detailed statement 16 covering committee activities for the year, I should 17 like to use my time to review some of the more 18 controversial and confused elements of the federal 19 asbestos regulations, and give recommendations as to 20 what I think the stance of the friction materials 21 industry should be in regard to them.
