BECK ROLLAWAY PORTABLE DUST COLLECTOR The intake air velocity of the Tepco Model 21 Rollaway dust collector in Central Shops was checked July 28, 1982. Ten measurements were taken at the face of the cone using the A1nor Type 8500 Thermo-anemometer. The table below compares measured results with manufacturer specifications: Air Volume Area of Cone Area of Duct Duct Velocity Cone Face Velocity Capture Velocity (1` - 1 1/2') Spec 686 cfm 3500 fpm 2000 fpm Measured 220.18 cfm .687 sq ft. .196 sq. ft. 1123.4 fpm 320.5 fpm This dust collector is well below specifications and requires immediate maintenance. Recommended procedures include checking belt tightness (for 1/2" play), imput voltage, and the possibility of a clogged arm. Please notify me after this has been done and I will check it again.
