Subpart B-National Emission Standard for Asbestos of 40CFR61 requires that EPA be notified of any activity involving the removal of insulation or fireproofing material containing asbestos from more than 260 feet of piping or more than 160 square feet from other equipment such as ducts, boilers, tanks, reactors, turbines, furnaces and structural members. This requirement was brought to our attention by Mr. R. A. Huber's subject letter of June 22, 1977. In his letter. Mr. Huber attached asample notification form that seems to be_an adequate format for transmitting the required in formation to EPA. Dan Martin has asked me to collect notification forms from the Southern EP Coordinators for subsequent submittal to EPA.
