Dear Ray, Excuse my tardy response to your mo3t interesting letter end copy of the Deed of Agreament with James Hardie 8 Co, I wish to congratulate you on what is evidently an important and signifi cant precedent in setting additional payments in respect of asbestos victims. Our investigations show that the agreement is in fact a significant breakthrough as you indicate in your letter not only for Australia but world wide. This we have ascertained after a preliminary investigation on such claims in our own records. We are preparing a world-wide circular to bring this to the attention of cur affiliates and will include a special article in our forthcoming Occupational Health Bulletin. I should like to take this occasion to ask whether we can hope to have you with us at the 17th Statutory Congress and the Executive Board Meeting previous to the Congress in Mexico. This will be a very important Congress for ICEF in many respects but particularly in regard to our new policies and orientation. This adds to the importance I attach to having you with us in Mexico.
