Katie, Thank you very much for the kind introduction. Lucy, Nice to meet you via email. As Katie indicates, we very much would appreciate the opportunity to brief Secretary Burgum and/or his team. Our project is directly relevant to President Trump's memo to the Secretaries of Interior and also Commerce calling for a report from them by April 20 on moving water from north to south in the western US. While our project would pipe the water to California, the amount of water involved is sufficient to effect a giant rebalancing of the water supplies of the US West, including the Colorado River states and the Pacific Southwest. It is the kind of generational project and backbone infrastructure that the US West needs to continue to prosper and provide for human flourishing. Sierra Club v. Dept of Interior - 3:25-cv-05375-PHK 0000891 SC_EVERSPLIT0013738 $10 million has been invested into the project over a period of years, and the engineering powerhouse AECOM has concluded that there are no fatal flaws and that the project is ready to proceed to permitting. So, unlike some of the "pipe dreams" out there, ours is a real project that is actionable now. The missing ingredient is the political will to tackle the problem and get moving. President Trump's focus on western water and his comments on the Columbia River indicate that the political will has gathered. I and my key team members are ready to meet in DC at the Secretary's and his team's earliest convenience, and provide a briefing. I truly think Interior, and also Commerce, will find the project useful and on point for the April report. Thank you for considering this request. Paul's project explores moving water from the mouth of Oregon's Columbia River using a `dam-less' reservoir and brought south in underwater pipes along the coastline tethered to the sea floor to recharge the water aqueducts in California. I met with him on this and he asked if I could help with an introduction for a meeting with the Department. I'll let you two take it from here!
