I. don't know whether they are serious in stating that this oil is used on hogs or not and of course it is highly unlikely that any of the Ethyl ingredi ents have much effect on these animals. However, I guess some lead salts do get into the crankcase oil and if it is extensively used for fattening hogs in farming communities I wonder what might be the result. At least it is an angle that I have never heard of before so thought it best to bring it to your attention. Do you think anything should be done about it. Some of them use it for fuel and other purposes, but much of it fs used in hog-oilers. This practice, however, has de creased to some extent since ethyl gas, has attained its ""present popularity. Some of the ethyl creeps into the oil and it is reported th a t it eats the hair off the hogs. ;, ; In some communities the drained oil is p u t in - drum s and sold to the city for oiling dusty streets.
