I indicated total chlorine was about 40% and that the higher chlorinated isomers were minimized to aid biodegradation. Hg is appar ently going to publish a paper on some aspect of Aroclor 1016. He also requested another sample of isopropylbiphenyl. FDA has been following MXPB in recycled carbonless paper. Peaks other than those found in our crude M1PB are being found in the chromatographs of recycled paper. We had sent a sample marked "crude" MIPB. I indicated the "crude" type material would most probably be used in carbonless containing dialkylated biphenyl. I also indicated we were not sole pro ducers of MIPB. Mr. Lombardo then decided to withdraw his request for another MIPB sample. What this adds up to is FDA is back at the carbonless paper sampling. I hope they like what they find. tU.R- W. R.
