I am very glad to write you that we are accepting -this symposium, cir,n ar pnhITshin'g it in the February issue of the Journal. Our reviewer prefers your arrangement of John Buxell's paper to the original one, so we will publfsh the one which you edited. He feels, however, that the tech nique for determining lead does not contribute anything new, and I wonder, in the in terests of economy, whether we could eliminate thaw part of it entirely? Would you be good enough to let me know what you think? In the second paper, by Lester Senders, the "literature is inadequately covered", our reviewer feels. Do you think that Dr. Sanders could cut out any more of his figures, and still make the paper complete? Vfe must reduce the number of all our figures and charts if possible, as we a re running on a. limited budget. Paper no. 5, by W. C. Dreesen, must be re-typed, double-spacing, on heavy type writing paper, and the first copy sent to me. We have only a carbon copy here, which the 'Aaverly press will not accept. Ifthen this paper is re-typed, wall you ask them to type the References in double-.spacing also? In other ways, the references, or biblio graphy, follows our form very well. Do you wish me to return this paper no. 5 to you for re-typing, or have you.a copy there which you can use? I regret the delay in writing you about these papers. In Mr. Drinker's absence, I have to send all manuscripts to our associate editors, and to other re viewers who are kind enough to do it for us. This, however, involves a good deal of delay, which can not be avoided.
