A defective tool display was discussed for HSC. If additional defective tools are found, we will put them in the display case in the Main Office Building. The answers are sometimes given to log book the day before an inspection. It is felt that the foreman is overloaded and answers are poor in some cases. We are getting a good answer to 15T1 pit area problems, but the answer has been slow. Warehouse "G" non-skid material needed. SHAC will concentrate on safety log book replies in the next quarterly inspection. New Business It is felt that fire permits are being improperly used as work permits in many cases. The HSC likes the new type piano safety glasses. What is the policy for new safety glasses being handed out? The new glasses are now in Safety Supply and are available for use plantwide. Personnel desiring a pair should see their supervisor. A contractor boilermaker was seen opening the elevator doors on the reformer which is a safety hazard. Contractor not following safety rules -- mis-using manlifts, driving too fast, incorrect tool for correct job, and twelve men in a contractor pickup. SIP, Hartney, Piping Engineering, and CT-3 contractors (not putting out safety signs) are the main violators.
