Dietz and T, Elgin have proposed a more sophis ticated maintenance program for ESMX 48,000 gallon tank cars used in vinyl chloride service to assure greater reliability of this fleet of specialized cars. Operations has accepted the program and dates for its implementation. At South Charleston the current inventory of monomer is 1,061,000 pounds with an additional GAF car in the Valley. DISPERSION RESINS Installation has begun on BLP (bromolauroyl peroxide) catalyst facility project. The No. 3 Spray Dryer feed control system has been improved by installing a pressure control system upstream of the dryer feed motor valve. An attempt is being made to purchase and put into service a personal VC1 dosimeter for monitoring personnel exposure to VC1 at Dispersion Resins Unit. SUSPENSION/NON-SOLVENT RESINS Total production for February is now estimated to be 16.0 million pounds, very close to Plan. The slurry storage tank placed in operation to provide some surge capacity between the autoclaves and the dryers in the non-solvent operation remains in service without any apparent effect on quality.
