Growth Energy represents 82 ethanol producers and 83 associate members and is the leading trade association for the ethanol industry. We, too, share your belief that our nation can be pro-energy and pro environment at the same time, and we look forward to working with you to administer and implement policies that fulfill the President's strong support for American-made ethanol including the Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS). I write today to request a meeting with you and several of our industry CEOs to discuss the pressing issue of maintaining the current point of obligation under the RFS. Our industry along with fuel retailers, convenience stores, truck stops, railroads, and consumers all oppose this change as it would turn the success o f the RFS program on its head. As such, we are troubled by rumors suggesting that a deal has been made to determine the future of the renewable fuels industry without our input. Those attending the meeting would be myself, Jeff Broin, CEO of Poet in Sioux Falls, South Dakota; Todd Becker, CEO of Green Plains in Omaha, Nebraska; Mitch Miller, CEO of Carbon Green Bioenergy in Lake Odessa, Michigan; and Craig Willis, President, Ethanol, at Archers Daniels Midland of Decatur, Illinois. Thank you in advance for your consideration, and we look forward to meeting you as soon as you are able. If you need any information in the meantime, please do not hesitate to reach out to me or Chris Bliley, our Vice President of Regulatory Affairs. Sincerely, 17cv01906 Sierra Club v.
