The specimen shall be dried in air, weighed to the nearest 0,01 gram and immersed in water at a temperature of 65 to 75F in a horizontal position with 1 inch of water over the specimen for 24 hours. The specimen shall be removed from the water and the excess surface water removed from all sides of the specimen by blowing with clean, dry, compressed air. The specimen shall than be quickly weighed and the percentage of absorption calculated as follows: Absorption (by weight) percent =w*1 - w x 103 w where: w=weight of specimen before immersion, in grams w'=weight of specimen after immersion, in grams 5.05 Color: Visual Observation - Upon production approval, a sample of the material shall be retained for duplication and comparison of color on subsequent production lots. 6.
