We have been in contact last year regarding the PFAS restriction proposal and had the pleasure to meet together with Viessmann. I am now reaching out to kindly request a meeting with you together with our client DuPont concerning the PFAS restriction proposal. Many European industries, including aerospace, semiconductor, automotive, and water filtration, rely on products made by DuPont which contain or depend on PFAS-like fluoropolymers such as FFKM, PTFE, PFPE, FKM, PVDF, and PFA in their operating environments. DuPont has made multiple submissions (i.e., technical assessments, and socio-economic analyses) to the ECHA public consultation on the potential PFAS restriction proposal. Please find herewith for your reference the documents we submitted: Link to Wimi workspace: https://eppa.wimi.pro/shared/#/folderibb9a85b9210d3437b8db3f0eddb9e88bac2826af786a0c6af6c07 146822edf13 Password: 2Gh8edcf9095P* Based on proper analysis, there are currently no technically suitable nor economically feasible alternatives readily available to substitute the PFAS used in the relevant uses and applications while providing comparable product performance benefits. The analysis and documents presented by DuPont as well as downstream industries and users in the public consultation and otherwise reasonably justify the request for derogations for the use of specific fluoropolymers, including perfluoroelastomers, and blowing agents for critical applications. The main purpose of the requested meeting would be to raise the awareness and knowledge of key stakeholders with regard to the situation related to the proposed PFAS restriction - bringing complementary added value to the European Union and Member States authorities to support an informed decision. You will have the opportunity to hear about the situation and the impacts directly from the company, including the opportunity for questions and a discussion. We would also be delighted to hear your perspective on the PFAS restriction from a status, process and content perspective. We are available for questions you might have and we thank you in advance for your consideration and response.
