I think you will not wish to keep this for much longer than ic will take you to read it, and if that is the case, I*d appreciate your returning it to me at your convenience. If you should find some use for it, however, you needn't bother to return it. Somewhat to my surprise, there were several requests for it, and I had only four copies made. , This is not one of the papers of mine of which X think very highly. I was under pressure to do it when I hadn't the time required to satisfy myself that it contained what I m u t e d to say. I very nearly threw it out in favor of a new subject, but decided to stick with it. I say this not apologetically, except insofar as the paper is an invasion, so to speak, of your province.
