Gentlemen: The Surgeon General of the United States Public Health Service issued Public Health Bulletin, Number 165, in 1926, having to do with regulations for the distribution of gasoline treated with tetraethyl lead. The part of this bulletin regulating the display of the warning signs for gasoline pumps and containers has been modified as of June 23, 1946, in recognition of the changed 3tyles in dispensing equipment. The substance of the amendment provides that the signs should be Placed on the sides of the pump generally approached and in such position as to be most easily observed.
