The Oversight Committee has approved the budget for the changes in the protocol due to the SRP and ERP reviews. The Report on the ERP review has not reached a state that Dr. Irons feels is appropriate for submittal to the IRB; he feels is sent as submitted. The current report mentions Dr. Wong's study, which Dr. Irons feels will cause his IRB wanting to also review that protocol. Dr. Brody also requires his review of the final protocol prior to his approval. o Dr. Brody and I will be working to ameliorate the language in the report to respond to the sensitivities of Dr. Irons about mention of Dr. Wong's study. o Dr. Irons has promised to send to Dr. Brody an electronic version of the updated protocol today for him to review. o Dr. Brody and I will work to provide a revised report to Dr. Irons, hopefully next week. Dr. Irons will be leaving for China on Monday (112112002) and will need to coordinate submission of the protocol to his IRB remotely, and has indicated that the people are in place to make this happen. One other issue of minor note is that the Communications Committee has suggested the change in the name of the project to "Shanghai Health Research."
