HANDLING OF ASBESTOS.
We have formally been advised that Mesothelioma has now
been added to the list of Biseases Prescribed under the Industrial
Injuries Act 1965, arising out of the Handling of Asbestos
At a Meeting of the Ocean Shipowners Bay Committee it was decided to advise our members working within the Ocean Trades, that from Monday January 2nd, 1967, unless Asbestos is carried in bags which are impervious.to the escape of Bust or in suchother containers as would have the same effect, not to handle this Commodity
