Chen- Stockton HQ Subject AIRBORNE ASBESTOS CONCENTRATIONS I was told by Ms. Aileen Teng of ESIS, Inc. that the 8-hour TWA asbestos exposure for Mr. Johnny Crain, willow operator, was 4.5 f/cc. This is in excess of the OSHA's PEL of 2 f/cc. The analytical lab of ESIS, Inc. has indicated that the sample was normal and the result was accurate. It is told that this abnormally _ high airborne asbestos concentration was probably caused by improper work practice conducted by Mr. Crain. Please check your local ventilation systems and Mr. Crain's work practice. Make all the necessary corrections. When you are ready for resampling, contact Ms. Teng directly to schedule a suitable date. . Please note, since the Permastran area was not sampled due to no operations performed during the previous sampling period, this area should be included in the same day when the asbestos is . . resampled. The resampling date should be scheduled as early as possible. Also, Mr. Crain should act as a willow operator during the resampling period.
