Chandler, Else, Jones, Miller, Ormsby and Dr. Barbour. The following subjects were covered: 1. Routing booths in pattern shop - This item remains inactive pending decisions on new X-ray equipment and on moving the Foundry. I 2. 8,000 Ton press fume collection - Estimated target date for completion is May, 1968. 3. Etch Station - Extrusion-Tube Division - Complete. Hygiene survey indicates operation now satisfactory. 4. Chlorine exhaust hoods - Ingot Division - Hoods for Nos. 1, 2, and 5 units now operate satisfactorily. The hood for No. 4 unit is'being redesigned. Completion expected April 30, 1968. Mandatory safety rules will then be established and necessary training completed. 5. Etch stations - Forge Division - An R/A has been submitted for improved control equipment for all these units. No estimate of completion date pending approval of R/A. An R/A is being prepared to transfer the inspection unit to the precision forging area. 6. Ingot saw fumes - C Bay - A new lubricant was tried with unsatisfactory results. Engineering will contact Mr. Carter and several plants in an attempt to find a solution. Mr. Godges will be contacted regarding training operators on oil setting. The possibility of quenching chips will be investigated.. Additional pressure will be applied to the supplier-for oil composition details so we can determine extent of hygiene problem. ARCH 19174 i Mr. H. Banzett Page 2 January 23, 1968 7. Furnace fumes - Tube Mill - Roof ventilators appear sat isfactory but further study will be made the next time ah oily load is furnaced. 8. Air pollution compliance - Rule 66 - A.P.C.D. gave temporary approval for present solution which runs slightly high in aromatics. We will use 4% aromatics solvent for future makeup. 9. Automatic etch unit - Forge - Respirators have been received and will be installed promptly. Problem complete. 10. New rotary sandblast equipment - Foundry - A temporary setup to avoid atmosphere contamination is operating satisfactorily and will be replaced by a permanent installation as soon as possible. 11. Ammonia fumes for Ozalid machine - Utility Building - A minimum cost venting system will be investigated by Engineering. 12. Sulfuric acid fumes from anodizing unit - Rivet - Target for exhaust fan is May 1. 13. Fumes from age, anneal ovens - E Bay - Mr. Ormsby and Laboratory getting more data. 14. Zinc chromate fumes from truck beam painting - Tract IV Messrs. Ormsby and Chandler and Industrial Engineering will investigate and recommend suitable setup. Appears desirable to limit personnel involved and equip them with coveralls, rubber gloves, and.respirator. 15. Marinite sawing - Carpenter Shop - Mr. Ormsby will investigate to make sure proper procedures are followed and monitored on a continuing basis. A recent hygiene survey indicated an unsatisfactory high dust count. 16. Grinder exhaust duct air velocity - Force - Engineering will change duct cross section to increase velocity where minimum standards are not being met. No target date has been established. 17. Need for noise survey of new ecuipment - Mr. Ormsby will advise Mr. Chandler as part of new equipment check-out. Problem complete. ARCH 19175 Mr. H. Banzett Page 3 January 23, 1968 Mr. J. S.
