By way of background, the Tennessee Valley Authority provides reliable and affordable energy; economic development; and environmental stewardship through managing the Tennessee river system for navigation and recreation for the people of the Tennessee Valley region, which spans 80,000 square miles across parts of seven states in the Southeast. TVA does not receive federal appropriations and sustains its operations through wholesale electricity generation and transmission sales to 153 local power companies and over 60 large, energy-intensive industrial customers, including seven federal installations. Attached is brief snapshot and background on TVA, and overview of key performance and investment initiatives currently underway.
TVA frequently partners and engages with the Department of Interior on a variety of matters, and Jeff is looking forward to serving as a partner and resource for the Secretary at Interior and in his leadership role on the National Energy Dominance Council.
