A former Pennsylvania environmental official will head EPA's Region 3 office, which oversees Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, West Virginia, Virginia and Washington D.C.
Administrator Scott Pruitt has selected Cosmo Servidio for the post, EPA announced today. Servidio previously was the southeast regional director for Pennsylvania's Department of Environmental Protection from 2012 to October 2016, when he "abruptly" resigned for unknown reasons, according to local reports.
Servidio is currently director of environmental affairs for the Bucks County Water and Sewer Authority, according to EPA. Before joining DEP in 2012, Servidio was a vice president at insurance broker Willis North America. From 2005 to 2009, he was chief of staff for EPA's Region 2 office in New York.
Servidio "brings federal, state, and local administrative experience working in the environmental field," Pruitt said in a statement.
