Results of urine samples sent to DuPont during the second week in January for lead levels were received. All were within acceptable limits. The EDC loading system into DuPont's organic lead cars was provided with a second vapor vent. Selection of the vent to be used in order to further reduce exposure, can now be made, depending on wind direction, through a three-way valve. The first copy of Family Safety, an off-the-job safety magazine, was mailed out to all employees during January. Comments on the maga zine have been favorable. A letter and clearing procedure for VCM tank cars were sent to General American Tank Car to advise them of safety precautions associated with repair work on a number of our cars. The letter and clearing procedure were submitted to the Legal Department prior to mailing to assure that we were not assuming any legal liability. Suggested changes in the MCA Chem Card for VCM were submitted. These changes are directed toward stronger precautions in handling vinyl tank car fires. FLK000000090
