This was delayed in reaching me because it was addressed initially to our apartment in San Francisco. I think I should tell you (as you will suspect, no doubt) that Nell Conway has no technical knowledge that 'would qualify her to appraise properly the apparatus of which she speaks. She is a generally capable person with good judgment in the matter of the personal qualities of people. I have little doubt, therefore, that the man of whom she speaks is a thoroughly good and honest person. His technical competence is quite another matter. I have no idea as to the manner or the degree to which this invention accomplishes the function for which it has been designed. I am properly skeptical, but knowing my own limitations, I think it best to bring this to your attention, for such further action, if any, which you and your associates think advisable.
