On further discussion with appropriate CMA staff, it appears your pool products and Industrial biocides which Zeneca sells as intermediates are considered Category II chemicals. You mentioned that from your 17 years at ICI you have some appreciation for what CMA does. I've enclosed materials which provide greater detail about our programs and issues. They include the requested fee schedule. CMA is the nation's principal chemical trade association. Our members account for over 90 percent of the nation's basic industrial chemical productive capacity. CMA is the focal point for the chemical industry's collective action on legislative, regulatory, performance improvement, education, and economic matters at the international, national, state and local levels. The Association focuses on key issues such as: environmental management; worker and community health and safety; plant operations; transportation; international trade; taxes; and energy and petrochemical feedstocks. CMA also addresses industry-wide technical and scientific problems, communicates with government and the public on vital issues, and administers research studies on chemical products and services. CMA members have made participating in the Responsible Care initiative an obligation of membership. The initiative is a commitment to environmental, health and safety performance improvement.
