An evaluation was made of the portion of the Federal EPA procedure for PCB analysis that utilizes the silica gel microcolumn for the separation of PCB's from organochlorine pesticides. The use of the micro column could be of value to us with the PCB analyses of environmental samples where the presence of pesticides is shown.
Microcolumns have been prepared according to the specifications of the EPA procedure. Standardization of each microcolumn is necessary because the dimensions are a factor in the solvent elution volume for the PCB's and the pesticides. A microcolumn has been standardized and is now available for future analyses.
