Sunbury, Executive Secretary. You have a copy of Mr. Sunbury's letter cf October 22 to Mr. Martucci confirming the talks they had. The purpose of my letter is to formally apply for membership in the A.T.I.-' in'the name of C-arlock Inc. under the conditions as outlined in Mr.; Sunbury's letter of October 22. Your application will be formerly voted on by our Board of Governors at our next meeting 10 February 1966. As our Board has already voted to extend you an invitation, this is merely a necess ary formality. Our first 1966 conference will be held in the Hotel Barbizon Plaza, 59th at Sixth Avenue, New York City on 10 and 11 February. Committee meetings take all day Thursday. The General Meeting is always on Friday. We will be pleased to have you represent your company on our Board of Governors. Mr. N.L.A. Martucci is the logical man to serve on the Sales Promotion Committee. We believe you have given Mr.G. Flwood Houghton two conflicting . assignments. The Air Hygiene . Mfg. Committee meets separately from the Technical Committee. Both Committees generally have a very full one day agenda. The Air Hygiene and Manufacturing Committee is concerned princip ally with dust control and manufacturing problems. This committee is composed principally of Factory Managers.. The Technical Committee is concerned principally with writing and rewriting specifications. This includes Federal Spes as well as ASTM Specs. The men on the Technical Committee are logically product development people. We therefore suggest the advisability of having Mr. Houghton serve on one Committee or the other, and appoint anothe one of your people to sit on the alternate Committee.
