I'n in on Sunday trying to catch up on the hundreds of email I hadn't looked at yet. I'm happy to work with you & the ITBC... we just need to get you onto the calendar. To facilitate that, contact Gareth_Rees@ios.doi.gov...he drew the short straw to manage my calendar. His phone is 202-208-3905. I look forward to catching up with you. Montanans are excited for Ryan Zinke to assume his post as Secretary of Interior. I'm glad Interior will have people at the top who are familiar with Indian Country. I continue to represent the InterTribal Buffalo Council. The organization is now federally chartered under Section 17 of the Indian Reorganization Act and has been funded through the BIA budget from various sources including Fish and Wildlife and Rights protection for the last 8 years. ITBC had proposed creation of the program permanently to the last administration to avoid the yearly uncertainty of funding for the now 52 buffalo herds across Indian country. We were unable to have a meaningful dialogue about the proposal last administration and would like to re-engage. I am coming to DC next week with ITBC and we wondered if we could meet with you on this issue. Thanks and hope to talk with you soon, Majel Majel Russell Elk River Law Office 145 Grand Ave, Suite 5 Billings, Montana 59101 (406) 259-8611 office (406) 860-0558 cell
