He worked fo r us u n t il May I960, when he was re tir e d ro r reasons o. i l l h e a lth . His Doctor stated on the statement o f d is a b ilit y he prepared under diagnosis "Coronary A rte ry Disease - Congestive Heart f a il u r e . " Under progress, "Has s u f fic ie n t myocardial damage to permanently disable h im ." The la tt e r p a rt of August of tn ls year Mr. Hermsen c a lle d me up and said he had oeen re fe rre d to a doctor in Spokane by his local d o c to r, and th is doctor had to ld him he had asbestos in his lungs. A sh o rt time la te r i went to see him and he again to ld me the same th in g . He to ld me he d id n 't know what he was going to do but he planned to re ta in an a tto rn e y to represent him. I to ld him what had tra n sp ire d and probably a claim would be forthcom ing. On September 8, Mr.dames Salansky o the law firm Measure and Salansky of K a lis p e ll, came to see me and said he was representing Mr.Hermsen. On September I I , I wrote to ooth you and B i l l B a ilile t e llin g o f th is v i s i t . The fa c t th a t Mr. Hermsen had worked fo r us and his employment dates were v e r i f i e d . On September 12 copies o f claim s fo r b e n e rits and compensation were l e f t in my o f f i c e by Mr. Salansky. i was out of tne o f f i c e a t the tim e, but was able to get Mr. Saianaky on tha phone the next day and he said tnese claims hac been forwarded to the in d u s tria l Accident Board o f Montana.
