Sharp The Second Quarter competitive Safety and Housekeeping Inspection for the lab area was conducted on April 9, 1985. The Quality Assurance T^h will be given the outstanding award and the best rating for this quarter. While the Research III area did just C get into the outstanding level the inspection team did not feel that it should merit an award plaque. Ratings were: Quality Assurance Lab Research III Research II Research I Outstanding Outstanding Good Good GENERAL COtttEOTS Many of the rocms in Research I and Research II buildings are in need of interior painting and window glazing. Several labs were very cluttered and housed more apparatus than available storage space. Several labs were vacant with apparently no one responsible for housekeeping or cleanup. Emergency utility cut-off drawing in Research I and Research II halls have not been revised in twelve years - need to check to make sure they are current and revise date. QUALITY ASSURANCE LAB North Lab Old 2" solvent line on outside of building is badly corroded and needs to be removed. Kitchen area - ice box needs to be straightened up. SC 000339 LAM001536 RESEARCH III - PETS Designated areas or boxes need to be provided for face shields. Area in back lab where bar stock and metal is stored needs to be straightened up. RESEARCH II Conference Room Boxes stored on floor. Lobby Respirator fit sign - loose on wall. Hall by Storeroom 1/2 copper tubing loose and hanging Back of Building Plectron radio turned off. First Floor Research Store room Eyebath and safety shower not accessible. Lab 2105 Lab crowded and cluttered. Lab 2113 General clutter in lab and office. Hood door too high. Lab 2114 lab dirty, lapp pumps dripping oil on floor. Lab 2142 Lab 2143 Emergency card on door needs to be updated. Emergency card needs updated. Hood above recctnnended set point. Many samples on counter, ladder should be stored. Need coat rack. Lab 2145 Shelves need straightening up. Lab 2148 Hole in window. Cell 3 and Bench 2 Water dripping on floor. Lab 2106 Beaker of material on shelf covered with aluminum foil. 2140 Xerox Room Trash in comer.
