T/e understand that he has written you on the question of health hazard and we are pleased to give you the following Information* Se are continuing our sale of iSTHXL Brand of Anti-Knock Compound which is used, by oil refiners for the Eianuf&cture of Ethyl Gasoline, which is, in most instances, sold for a 5# preaius* We are also selling BGn brand of anti-knock compound, which has the ssao ingredients in it as SEHH*' fluid, except that it is not colored red* This ttQ8 fluid is used by oil companies for the manufacture of their regular priced gasoline . The maximum amount of tetraethyl lead permitted to be used in Ethyl Gasoline is 3 c.o. per U* S* Gallon, while in the regular gasoline the maximum lead coatKit is 1 c*o* The amount of lead varies with the inherent anti-knock value of each let of gasoline that is treated, certain specifications of anti knock value .being sot up for the two grades,' of course -Ethyl Gasoline being of substantially higher quality because of its premium price* Ethyl Gasoline pumps require the following notice on them* ;i CONTAINS (t e i p a s t r x i } m d IS TO BE USED IS MOTOR FdlL O H M , HOT FOR CLEANING OR ASX OTHER USE AVOID SPILLING* .` - Gasoline treated with "QW fluid requires the following notiee* FOR USE AS A MOTOR FOIL O H M CONTAINS ' t .XAB , (T1TRAETRH,) All Ethyl Gasoline is colored red* Regular gasoline treated with BQ* fluid must b colored, and all of the colors are used by the various oil com panies except red, which is reserved for Ethyl* ^ 0000536 Page 2 , 0/ 22/ 53* Both gasolines are dispensed to the eoosuster in general by the filling of their automobile task although a very samli amount is sensetimes bandied in .imam lots.
