Nixon's weekly letter of April 2 I have picked up a reference to a suit drought by a former employee of Phillips Fetooleum Company on the allegation of lead poisoning. The facts in this case are not clear in that no reference has been made to this m a n 's occupation or to the exposure alleged to have occurred. If this case has to do in any way with tetraethyl lead or leaded gasoline, I should be Informed promptly so that I can take the necessary steps to look into the matter. If it has no relationship to tetraethyl lead, 1 cannot see why the attorneys would have inter viewed Mr. Nixon. . If this was in any way connected with tetraethyl lead, Mr. Nixon should have taken the steps necessary to let me In on the informa tion at the earliest possible time. It was my impression that all of our field personnel were acquainted with this necessity. Obviously we cannot take care of medico-legal matters and problems connected with mixing plant activities and complaints directed against leaded gasoline, unless our field personnel are on the alert to report these matters. I should appreciate having this matter straightened out by means of the necessary information at the earliest possible time.
