Dear Irv:
I enjoyed the opportunity to meet with you again and appre ciate you and Dr. Lillis reviewing our videotape "Caring About Asbestos." During the discussion, you raised two points which needed evaluation and Z wanted to give you a follow-up report.
You and Sr. Lillis both wondered if Dr. Faison's refcrew* to the frontal view of a placque was in fact an X-ray of a carcinoma of the lung. Dr. Felson has since reviewed the videotape and, during the discussion, reiterated that the X-ray did in fact show only a placque. The patient has been followed by him for many years and he is confident it is not a different lesion.
we reviewed the videotape again and agree with you that the statement that 4 out of S radiologists will have a different reading for the same X-ray is too harsh and will tend to undsrmine the confidence that employees have in x-rey interpretations. This statestent will be reseved.
X wish to thank you and Dr. Lillis for the vary helpful and constructive comments and aapectally for helping us develop a factual educational videotape fox our employees.
