Jackson BENDIX CORPORATION SOUTHFIELD MICHIGAN ASBESTOS HEALTH SEMINAR 8/8/72 A seminar on Asbestos Health was held at the Executive Offices of the subject company on the above date The format is attached as is the list of Bendix attendees This presentation can form the basis for future N presentations on A as well as for the A.I.A. regional seminars now being planned Our presentation was very well received and from the Chief Operating Officer on down all Bendix personnel expressed their appreciation and acknowledged that the information presented is of considerable help to them During our visit we had an B.B. Eby and I visited the GAF Mine at Hyde Park We went there to discuss the proposed EPA regulations and also to assess the operation They were very courteous and fairly open in answering questions oo, : PRODUCTION | | Their production in 1971 was | oe 2,000 - 3,000 tons GrouIpV 20,000 -21,000 Groups V and VI 23,000 tons Group VII a a , ae TOTAL 46,000 tons December = They have been on a five week since serly 1971 but expect to produce approximately the same tonnage ss = of fibre in 1972 . ae eae They mine 1 million average recovery of as tons of 4.6 ore per year with an rie!
