`Asbestos Monitoring
Attached are the results of the Asbestos monitoring conducted in the
west end of Building 2056, Institute Plant.

cutting approximately 100 Garlok Asbestos gaskets and while cleaning up the
Asbestos fibers that accumulated during cutting.

The results indicate that the exposure level waswellbelow the
permissible level of 2 fibers/cc for an 8-hour shift.

We are recommending that this area be restricted, with posting of Asbestos hazard signs, and no admittance of personnel who is not equipped with a dust mask. We are also requiring the use of disposable coveralls to eliminate fibers becoming attached to the person's clothing while leaning against the table and while using the small electric saw to cut the gaskets. We also require using a water spray to wet the loose Asbestos fibers on the table surface and a vacuum cleaner to cleanup at the end of each day.
