A week or two ago I returned an expense account to Dr. Kitzmiller which I would ^ have gladly paid directly had I been advised of your desires. If he has not collected the money by now I will be glad to have him return the expense account to me for payment. , -A '' We will be glad to receive any suggestions you can offer on the procedure to be employed before the next series of examinations. One of the men at Yellow Cab who had been previously examined did not return for re-examination because he claimed his arm was sore for a week when he was examined previously. Possibly we should offer a payment of five or ten dollars to each man being examined to be sure that we obtain cooperation for successive re-examinations. From your past experience you may be able to offer suggestions on this matter also. Since the merger of the Allied Oil Company with the Ashland Oil and Refining Company, Mr. Paul Blazer, Chairman of the Board of the latter .. company has become actively interested in our fleet program and the possi bilities for expanding it. This commercial interest springs from the strategic location of his three refineries and water-based terminals for supplying straight-run gasoline and Vitol to fleet accounts. Yellow Cab Company is sufficiently pleased with our results so that they would like to extend it to additional vehicles. Because of Mr. Blazer's position in the industry and his recent introduction to our problems I believe it would be desirable to have a meeting with him as soon as data from examinations which bear upon our K 0020586 Robert A. It may be we will have sufficient data to extend our fleet effort safely before we can consider expansion of the Columbus effort. This possibility occurs to me because ve have had fleet personnel under observation for a longer time and because the smaller number of personnel involved will allow us to exercise whatever control appears to be desirable. It is also possible that additional fleets should be started using Vitol to obtain data on different methods of handling our solution. For example, small fleets would probably like to use the Vitol from drums and no fleets are operating this way at present. It appears to me that your office would be the best place for a meeting with Mr. Blazer. It is accessible from both Ashland and Cleveland and will take the least of your time.
