Lawrence December 8, 1982 Safety & Health , Asbestosis -) Illness Recording Hi story I mentioned in our December 1-2 meeting in Pittsburgh that a number of asbestosis illnesses had been recorded at South Charleston since we started such recording at the beginning of 1980. We continue to diagnose and record new cases on a mor-thlv basis, so it appears that asbestosis represents an area or major interest in the future at South Charleston. I also mentioned that of the asbestosis cases we have recorded the majority were not members of the insulator craft, and represented a broad cross-section of other maintenance field crafts. Because of our experience to date, we would be interested in receiving information on the recording of asbestosis cases at other ex-C&P plants. Would you please let me know the number of asbestosis cases you have recorded at each of your plants, and the work assignments of the individuals who have developed this medical condition.
