Dear Sir
I made reinspection today of H & V Specialties Co. West Groton
in connection with order 20 which was issued on November 20 1952 after I had visited this plant accompanied by Messrs Beverly and Comproni of the Division of Occupational Hygiene
.
I found that since the order was issued the company has been ex-
perimenting in order to try and find a substitute for the asbestos
usie n td he manufacture of filter cloth
However as they are still using asbestos they have started to comply with the recommendations made as follows
1 One dozen approved Type & respirators have been ordered for use of the employees
.

2 A wet condensor has been ordered to eliminate the cloth

bag dust collectors
purchased 3. Industrial vacuum cleaners have been
and are
being used for eleaning floors machines etc.
n ew picker has been installed on second floor to replace the
old type which operated on the first floor, This machina da pot yet in operation and mechanics were installing cochmust systen
