Dzurilla date: December 11, 1972 subject: Retention of Green Top by Vacuum on One-Piece Machine Complete success of our asbestos free one-piece tops rely on the ability of the green top to remain on the tool before it is blown off the tool into the receiver box. Examples of tops- falling off the tooling or simply remain ing in the forming tank have occurred on experimental cops from time to time at every sight where one-piece cops are produced. These Included Poseco Cleveland, Foseco Chicago and Bethlehem, Johnstown. Possibly a sereen size change on the tooling would solve the problem but this would be very costly and no doubt create other problems especially if a coarser mesh screen would be used. Unless there be a mechanical device attached to the tool to hold the grecr. insert, I see no ocher alternative at this time but to employ a vacuum system internally on our one-piece tools to do the job.
