As you know, the Vinyl Institute Annual Environmental Recognition Awards have been given for the past several years.
Please use the attached calculation instruction sheet and provide your calendar year 1992 information to me on the enclosed sheet by March 24, 1993.
Presentations will be made at the Vinyl Institute May 24-26, 1993 Annual Meeting to the first and second best performing plants in both the VCM category and the PVC category. As you know, special recognition is planned for any 5-year winners.

REVISED CALCULATION INSTRUCTIONS
Annual recognition is given to the first and second best performing plants in both the PVC category and the EDC/VCM category. Performance is measured basically pursuant to US EPA's NESHAP Standard and specifically calculated as below. Please note that this revised, simplified formula approved by the committee does not require the difficult accounting associated with the previous percentage determination formula.
Score = 100 - A - B - C - 10D
Where: A = The number of RVCM daily average exceedances B = The number of ROL exceedances C = The number of vent control device 3-hour average exceedances D = The number of emergency release (relief valve, rupture disc,
