Ne reoeired the pigaent samples and paint vehloles from the above company for testing the properties of Permolith liCk against Ponollth EL-133 as per their suggested formula. Paints have now been made using, respectively; (1) Femollth W-320; (2) Permolith UCM from Mao-O-iaoj and (3) EL-133 from Kac-O-Lao, as per the following formula:

These paints ware made an ths roller mill, a a per your suggestion.
The paints ware attained after 1 day and after 5 days for paokage condition and oonsistenolaa. The resuits are aa follows:

The above results confirm Mao-O-Lao results that this sample of Permollth hCU does shoe bed settling. The oonslstenoy, when the pigment is in suspension, is not greatly different frea the oonalstenoy of 32.-133. However, when the pigment settles, the liquid above is veiy thin.
In the Oase of i-eraollth W-320, we get no settling st 5 days, but the oonalstenoy is somewhat higher than that obtained by KL-1J3, but still good painting oonalstenoy.
Uy recommendation is that we suggest that they try out Femollth W-320, as this will give them more hiding power suid definitely sore con sistency with better e us pension properties, baaed on the above tests.
This is the first time we have run Into bad settling performanoe with Femollth liCM and, unfortunately, we had no way of oheoking other lots of Femollth UOU to see If they behaved similarly, because we had insuffi cient liquid for the tests. Furthermore, there is no wsy of oheoking up on this lot of Femollth 2tOM beoause we do not know what lot it 1a.
I don't suppose It would be good business to rvoomaend to them that they try a mixture of w-320 and lCII to get their desired properties In view of the faot that XL-133 does the job, itself. I am, however, at a loss to make any other reoarenendatIon exoept that they try out W-320 by itself, and possibly they might like the oreesqr oonslatenay end slightly thicker paint, as well as higher hiding power obtained with this pigment in flat paints. If they should try out the mixture of W-320 and hPU, I would sugeest a half and>mlf mixture.

If they are not agreeable to trying out the W-320 then I eee no alternative exoept to get more vehiole and make further teste to see If this bad settling of liOU Is typloal In their formula.
