Cole of Lead Industries Association has suggested that I write to you requesting your opinion as to the potential hazard to children of tinsel lead foil Christmas tree decorations (icicles). Our company furnishes the lead foil to icicle manufacturers, who slit and package the material. Several of our customers are genuinely apprehensive of the possibility that the government or some agency thereof may declare that these icicles represent a potential hazard to children, and may require a printed warning to that effect on the overwrap of the package.
