This first lsgred off Sept. 23rd, as a case of Eheumatic Arthritis of rigl^anoulder. I am told hy two doctors that shoulder was "badly swollen, red and apparently inflamed. He had a sinus from an abces3 of one of the upper teeth at that time. Had teeth Xrayed by a country dentist and this tooth and two others extracted. There evidently was a relief of pain. I believe one of your doctors saw him since he has been off. On the 4th, I received a request from this man's attending phycician to see him and he came in yesterday. At first I was inclined to be lieve his condition might be from dis-use but more careful observation leads me to believe there is more than that. As mentioned, in my wire he apparent ly has lost all use of his right deltoid and the other muscles about the shoulder and down to elbow are apparently extremely weak. His hostory indi cates that his muscular weakness is general over body. Difficulty of going up and down stairs, into or out of a chair, perspires freely. Then the apparent loss of sensation over portion of hand. All this leads me to fear he may be developing a generalized neuritis. He has no gastro intestional symptoms, no more insomnia than has been present for past few years, no.ctremors or ataxia. A check made by Dr. Stein, our Baytown Doctor, this morning brought out a difference in blood pressure of the two arms. The right was 126/76, the left 135/76. Any mental depression may be my own imagination. If you have not already done so, I would appreciate any suggestions you may have on his case, as to the cause and any treatment recommended.
