Results have not been published for two reasons: 1. Our specs for MR call for 7M fibers. We are currently using 7R fibers where possible because of the price break and no noticeable problem from this change* However, the fibers are shorter. 7T is still shorter, and Z am reluctant to approve the use of 7T from any source until bond character istics are checked. I do know 7T (J.M.) does not lower the yield of MR. 2. Work at present does not include checking out the bond on 7T fiber in MX. As you know, asbestos in MR and anyother product is under "fire" from several sources, including our own company. Therefore, and this is privileged information, our efforts at present are aimed at replacing asbestos with another material (probably a fiber). To answer your question on July 11 memo, although Carey's 7TS-1 meets our specs (Test Report 1559), please do not add it to our purchase list. JM 7RO-2 may be added as a preferred grade.
